Our Mission Statement
The purpose of the Dallas Theater education program is to offer children, youth, and adults professional, engaging and diverse theatre classes and workshops where individuals can cultivate a love of the art while learning and growing their craft.
2025 – 2026 Program Information
The Dallas Theater provides full classes as well as one day workshops for students looking to further their skills in theatre. We offer programs for ages 8 to Adult and our offerings are on a rotating basis.

Looking for Acting/Theatre classes for ages 8 to adult?
A Taste of Acting-Monologue Edition
- August 21st, 2025
- Ages 18 and up

Get a small taste of acting with low commitment with our Intro to Acting Workshop! In just a few hours, you will learn acting basics and connect with other actors to do scene work and start to create realistic characters. This is perfect for anyone who is unsure about acting, looking for a refresher, or just looking to get out of their comfort zone for an evening! No experience required.
This workshop will focus on monologues – a speech delivered by a single character. You may bring your own monologue that you want to work on, or we can provide you one at the workshop! Read our blog on choosing the right monologue for you!
All workshops are non-refundable unless canceled by the Dallas Theater.
Drama Play Date
- Ages 5-7
- August 23rd
- 10a-12p
- $40 per student
An introduction to theater for the younger generation! All experience levels welcome! We will play fun theater games, learn some songs and dance, and make new friends through drama play in this new Saturday morning workshop for young kids. This is a great way to introduce your child to theater and get them active both physically and creatively for a couple of hours!
All workshops are non-refundable unless canceled by the Dallas Theater.

Get a small taste of acting with low commitment with our Intro to Acting Workshop! This workshop will focus on scenes between 2 – 3 characters! We will provide scenes at the workshop, but if you have something you’re interested in working on, feel free to let us know after you register!

The Art of Auditioning for Teens
- Ages 13 to 18
- October 9th, 2025

This three-hour workshop will focus on strong audition techniques to help you give the best audition you can, making it perfect for newcomers and seasoned actors alike. This is also fantastic prep if you’re planning on auditioning for our spring musical! We will work on how to begin and end your audition, really nailing your monologue, and work on song pieces for musical auditions!
Please note that while taking this workshop will be excellent at preparing you for an audition, it does not guarantee casting in a Dallas Theater production.

Dramatic Makeup-Horror
- Ages 13-18

Get ready for Halloween with our Dramatic Makeup workshop! Learn to use fake blood, latex accessories, scar wax, and more to bring your own spooky creations to life! Make-up and materials will be provided by the theater and are covered in the cost. Allergy note: this class will make use of latex, spirit gum, and pros-aide, but this can be optional.

Dramatic Makeup-Animal and Fantasy
- Ages 10 to 12
- October 16th, 2025
- 6:00p-8:30p

Get ready for Halloween with our Dramatic Makeup workshop for kids! Learn to turn yourself into an animal or a fantasy creature such as a mermaid or fairy! Parents are welcome to attend this workshop to assist their children and learn how to do some fun make-up for them! Make-up and materials will be provided by the theater and are covered in the cost. Allergy note: this class will make use multiple forms of powder, cream and pencil stage makeup.
All workshops are non-refundable unless canceled by the Dallas Theater.
We are taking the safety and health of our students and teachers very seriously. Here’s what we are doing to keep us all safe:
- We will continue to follow CDC and State Mandated guidance for positive cases, close contacts, and quarantines.
- Students will be encouraged to continue bring their own personal water bottles for camp.
- Masks are welcomed but not required (unless adhering to exposure guidance as mandated by state DPH).
- Multiple hand sanitizing stations will be available.
- The Dallas Theater reserves the right to postpone/cancel classes for the safety and well-being of students and staff.
We don't just offer workshops but also 4 different classes for kids, teens and adults!
