Our Mission Statement
The purpose of the Dallas Theater education program is to offer children, youth, and adults professional, engaging and diverse theatre classes and workshops where individuals can cultivate a love of the art while learning and growing their craft.
2024 – 2025 Program Information
The Dallas Theater provides full classes as well as one day workshops for students looking to further their skills in theatre. We offer programs for ages 8 to Adult and our offerings are on a rotating basis.

Looking for Acting and Improv classes for ages 8 to adult?
A Taste of Acting
- Dates offered: November 13th and January 16th
- You may attend as many sessions as you like!
- Ages 18 and up

Get a small taste of acting with low commitment with our Intro to Acting Workshop! In just a few hours, you will learn acting basics and connect with other actors to do scene work and start to create realistic characters. This is perfect for anyone who is unsure about acting, looking for a refresher, or just looking to get out of their comfort zone for an evening! No experience required.
All workshops are non-refundable unless canceled by the Dallas Theater.
Yes…And: An Improv Workshop
- Dates offered: November 21st, February 13th and April 16th
- You may attend as many sessions as you like!

Love Who’s Line is it Anyway? Get creative with our Improv Workshop for ages 18 and up! Spend your evening playing hilarious theater games all while learning what makes a great improv actor. This is a fantastic way to try something new and join up with your community! No experience required.
All workshops are non-refundable unless canceled by the Dallas Theater.
The Art of Auditioning (10-13)
- Ages 10 – 13
- Tuesday, September 10th, 2024

This three-hour workshop will focus on strong audition techniques to help your child give the best audition they can! All acting levels from beginner to advance are welcome, but this workshop is especially great for students who have never done a full production before!
Students will learn everything from how to choose a monologue, introduce themselves at an audition, how to give the best acting performance they can to how to end the audition in a professional manner! Our goal is to prepare your child for not only auditioning at the Dallas Theater, but elsewhere as well!
Please note, that while taking the audition workshop will be excellent in preparing you for an audition, it does not guarantee casting in a Dallas Theater production.

The Art of Auditioning (18 & up)

- Thursday, September 12th, 2024

This three-hour workshop will focus on strong audition techniques to help you give the best audition you can, making it perfect for newcomers and seasoned actors alike. You will participate in mock auditions and receive constructive, personalized feedback from one of our Dallas Theater producers.
You will explore techniques for developing compelling, authentic characters and learn to calm the nerves that go with auditioning. This workshop will also cover what happens before and after your audition monologue, preparing you from the moment you step into the audition room!
Please note, that while taking the audition workshop will be excellent in preparing you for an audition, it does not guarantee casting in a Dallas Theater production.

The Art of Auditioning for Teens
- Ages 13 to 18
- Thursday, October 10th, 2024

This three-hour workshop will focus on strong audition techniques to help you give the best audition they can! All acting levels are welcome, even if you’ve never auditioned or taken a class before!
If you’re interested in musical theater auditioning, you will be able to work with one of our musical theater teachers to even further hone your skills and help you perfect an audition song of your choice!
Not interested in musical theater, but still want to take this workshop? Then you will continue the last hour working on characterization and analyzing your chosen audition piece!
You will explore techniques for developing compelling, authentic characters and learn to calm the nerves that go with auditioning. This workshop will also cover what happens before and after your audition monologue, preparing you from the moment you step into the audition room!
Please note that while taking this workshop will be excellent at preparing you for an audition, it does not guarantee casting in a Dallas Theater production.

We are taking the safety and health of our students and teachers very seriously. Here’s what we are doing to keep us all safe:
- We will continue to follow CDC and State Mandated guidance for positive cases, close contacts, and quarantines.
- Students will be encouraged to continue bring their own personal water bottles for camp.
- Masks are welcomed but not required (unless adhering to exposure guidance as mandated by state DPH).
- Multiple hand sanitizing stations will be available.
- The Dallas Theater reserves the right to postpone/cancel classes for the safety and well-being of students and staff.
