Our Mission Statement
The purpose of the Dallas Theater education program is to offer children, youth, and adults professional, engaging and diverse theatre classes and workshops where individuals can cultivate a love of the art while learning and growing their craft.
2023 – 2024 Program Information
The Dallas Theater provides full classes as well as one day workshops for students looking to further their skills in theatre. We offer programs for ages 8 to Adult and our offerings are on a rotating basis.

Looking for Acting and Improv classes for ages 8 to adult?
Theatre Design: Props
- Ages 13-17
- Saturday, September 16th, 2023

- $75 (supplies included)
Have you ever been interested in making props? This workshop focuses on the use of craftfoam to create lightweight, inexpensive prop pieces. Students will learn how to cut out from a template, safely use heat to mold foam, and add their own design details. Each student will get to take home an unpainted prop that they made during the workshop. This workshop will include pieces such as foam daggers, shields, and small armor pieces. No experience required.
All workshops are non-refundable unless canceled by the Dallas Theater.
A Taste of Acting

Get a small taste of acting with low commitment with our Intro to Acting Workshop! In just a few hours, you will learn acting basics and connect with other actors to do scene work and start to create realistic characters. This is perfect for anyone who is unsure about acting, looking for a refresher, or just looking to get out of their comfort zone for an evening! No experience required.
All workshops are non-refundable unless canceled by the Dallas Theater.
Learn to Belt!
- Ages 14 to adult
- Wednesday, November 8th

- $60
Learn to belt correctly and safely in this workshop designed for ages 14 to adult. We will go over the basic fundamentals of belting and work with students on hitting those high notes without damaging their vocal chords! You do not have to be a music theatre aficionado to attend, but this is not an intro workshop, so we do ask that you have some experience singing.

Yes…And: An Improv Workshop

Love Who’s Line is it Anyway? Get creative with our Improv Workshop for ages 18 and up! Spend your evening playing hilarious theater games all while learning what makes a great improv actor. This is a fantastic way to try something new and join up with your community! No experience required.
All workshops are non-refundable unless canceled by the Dallas Theater.
Creative Movement (8 –12 + Guardian)
- Ages 8 – 12 plus Parents/Guardian
- Saturday, January 13th, 2024
- 10a-1p
- $30 for child and $20 for each accompanying adult
The biggest instrument an actor has is their body. This workshop is designed for child actors and their parents (or acting parents and their children) to join together and learn how to fully use movement and physicality in theater! We will explore the stage as space and play some fun, physical games along with doing some short scene work. Please wear comfortable clothes and no open toe shoes. Experience preferred, but not required.
Children can attend without an accompanying adult.

Puppetry for Kids

Learn the about the art of puppetry and create your very own puppet in this evening workshop! Led by a professional puppet artist, you will have plenty of time to design and develop your own puppet character and well as put on a small puppet show at the end of the workshop! This workshop is a fun and creative way for kids to express themselves while practicing fine motor skills and imagination. Pricing includes supplies and materials.

Creative Movement
- Ages 13 to 17

We are taking the safety and health of our students and teachers very seriously. Here’s what we are doing to keep us all safe:
- We will continue to follow CDC and State Mandated guidance for positive cases, close contacts, and quarantines.
- Students will be encouraged to continue bring their own personal water bottles for camp.
- Masks are welcomed but not required (unless adhering to exposure guidance as mandated by state DPH).
- Multiple hand sanitizing stations will be available.
- The Dallas Theater reserves the right to postpone/cancel classes for the safety and well-being of students and staff.
